State Sen. Mike Gloor of Grand Island is considering a run to become speaker of the Nebraska Legislature.
Gloor told a Rotary Club gathering in Grand Island on Tuesday that he's thought about leaving his post as chairman of the Banking, Commerce and Insurance Committee to seek the Legislature's top job.
Sen. Greg Adams of York will be leaving the Legislature at the end of the year because of term limits and will surrender the post he's held for the past two sessions.
Gloor stopped short of saying he will seek the job and noted that several other lawmakers may want it. Sen. Colby Coash of Lincoln has already said he will seek the position.
