A suspicious fire had burned itself out by the time Omaha firefighters arrived Sunday morning, but they still soaked the structure with water because of the strong odor of fuel coming from the house.
The blaze was only a few feet away from another suspicious fire that broke out in a vacant house at North 16th Street and Carter Boulevard on September 7th.
Arson investigators were called to the scene and began interviewing neighbors about what they might have seen and heard in the hours before the fire broke out.
