Lincoln police have arrested a second person in connection with two deadly beatings over the summer. Tyler Thornburg has been booked for second-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Richard McLaughlin III was arrested earlier and faces a charge of accessory to murder as well as a weapons charge.
The arrests are linked to the deaths of 27-year-old David Mueller and 20-year-old Nathan "Shane" Walton. Both were found severely beaten on June 29th and both died days later. Investigators say that the two victims had both suffered blunt force trauma.
Records indicate Thornburg was dropped off at Bryan LGH West hospital in 2008 when he was 17 by his mother and stepfather under Nebraska's safe haven law.
