Seat belt use at its highest percentage ever in Cass County. The Nebraska County Observed Unweighted Safety Belt Use report shows Cass County with a use rate of 83.3% for 2011 (ending October 7th of this year.)
The Cassgram report the county’s previous high rate was 81.7% in 2009. In 2010 the rate was 75.8%.
Cass and other counties in Nebraska have shown steady usage rate increases in Nebraska Office of Highway Safety records dating back to 2001. In 2001 the Cass County rate was 62.9%.
For the second year in a row, the Nebraska usage rate was at 84%.
