Bryan High School senior Kevin Tucker will not be expelled from school for a scuffle with a Resource Officer.
While he won’t face expulsion, Tucker's family was told by OPS in a letter that he will be reassigned to another school. In that notification OPS stated, “The Hearing Officer believes the relationship between Kevin and Bryan High School to be irreparable and therefore a return to Bryan High School would not be in the best interest of Kevin or the school."
Kevin’s mother, Mildred Tucker, said, "OPS is trying to make the wrongs right but I just need a little bit more. I need him to be able to walk the stage with his cap and gown that's important to me."
The Tuckers say they will appeal the decision to OPS so that Kevin can graduate with his classmates. In the meantime, he is in a program to make up for time lost in the past month.
