The metro school district with a new name now has a new logo and slogan. Springfield Platteview Community Schools, formally known as South Sarpy School District No. 46, has unveiled a red and blue logo and slogan.
The logo is a red SP to reflect the district’s new name. “Connecting Passion with Potential” is the district’s slogan.
“The blue line going through the P symbolizes a path to success for our students, faculty and staff,” Springfield Platteview Community Schools Superintendent Brett Richards said. “The slogan reflects our major technology initiative to enhance educational opportunities for our students.”
Earlier this year, the school board approved the district’s five-year strategic plan that includes an iPad for every student in grades 7-12 for the 2012-13 school year’s duration and one iPad per every two grade school students.
Springfield Platteview Community Schools worked with Omaha public relations firm Lukas Partners on its logo and slogan.
Although all school districts in Nebraska are legally named by their county and school district number, school boards have the discretion to determine an “also known as” name. The change does not impact names of the district’s four schools.
Springfield Platteview Community Schools is accepting open enrollment students for the 2012-13 school year. For more information, contact the district office at 402-592-1300.
