School district to engage Millard community.
The community will be asked to present ideas and share comments on school-related topics when the district unveils a new interactive website called “Engage Millard.” The school board will offer the site as a way to further engage our community. The site is under development and should be ready within a few weeks.
MindMixer, a company based in Omaha, has developed similar sites for cities including Omaha, Kansas City and Los Angeles. Millard Public Schools will be one of the first school systems to use MindMixer’s social media concept.
The sites are promoted as virtual town halls, making it easy for citizens to have a voice and for community leaders to listen. The site also will offer instant polls, and participants can suggest new topics for discussion.
Millard places a high priority on community engagement and was the first district in the nation to measure the engagement of parents through a Gallup survey. The district also measures the engagement level of students and staff. The new Engage Millard website will enhance the district’s efforts to reach out to the community.
