School district has a Facebook page for bond campaign. The balloting process in the mail-in election begins in about a month.
The Cassgram reports voters will decide whether bonds not to exceed $11.825 million should be issued for “renovating, rehabilitating and improving the District’s existing K-12 school building.” The school building would be brought in compliance with current codes and additions would be constructed and site improvements made. Classrooms, a competition gymnasium, improvements to the existing parking lots and removing the existing portable outbuildings are all part of the plan. The bond would also pay for furniture, equipment and apparatus for the building and additions.
A Facebook page with illustrations and more information has been set up under weepingwaterschoolbond2013.
According to information from Cass County Election Commissioner Nancy Josoff, each registered voter residing within the school district will receive a ballot by mail at his/her address as it appears on the voter registration register.
