School District Enacts Safety Plan

Elmwood-Murdock school district to enact A.L.I.C.E. Safety Program. The acronym A.L.I.C.E. stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate.

The Elmwood-Murdock district has already received statewide recognition for its school safety program but the district still conducted a two-year study of “how we could best react to the most stressful of all safety issues: intruders in the building and an active shooter situation,” says a release about the program on the district’s website.

The Cassgram reports In order to provide information to parents, the Elmwood-Murdock Public Schools in conjunction with Lt. Larry Burke of the Cass County Sheriff's Office, will meet with parents regarding the A.L.I.C.E. Program at 7pm on Thursday (9/26) at the Elmwood School site. Parents of all PK-12 students are invited and encouraged to attend this meeting.
