Investigators are looking into what caused a school bus to catch fire and burn down to a charred shell near Interstate 80 and Harrison Wednesday afternoon.
The air filled with black smoke and traffic came to a standstill.
It happened around 2 p.m. and eastbound traffic was backed up for at least an hour.
It does not appear that any children were on the bus. There were no initial reports of any injuries.
It took emergency crews about 30 minutes to extinguish the fire. A towing company eventually removed the bus and freed up the traffic flow.
