A Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued Monday night for parts of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa was removed earlier than anticipated after scattered storms tumbled out of the area.
The storm system did bring heavy rain to some locations.
There were also reports of some hail but nothing large enough to cause significant damage.
A tree was hit by lightning at 51st and Decatur in Omaha but the clouds rumbled south and the storm watch that had initially been set to expire at 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning was taken out of play by 10 o'clock Monday night in both Iowa and Nebraska.
