The Durham Museum in Omaha has begun the search for this year’s Christmas at Union State tree. Good candidates might be homeowners who have an evergreen that they are planning to remove.
The tree must be taller than 40 feet. It must have a single, straight trunk with a uniform shape. No bare spots, please. It must also be in a place where it can be safely removed.
This year’s tree will be harvested November 18 by a crew from Union Pacific. It will become the centerpiece of a grand event at the museum and on display through December 31.
