A state commission has fined Saunders County Attorney Scott Tingelhoff $2,000 for using his public office for personal financial gain.
The Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission issued the fine on Friday. It stems from a complaint by the state auditor over alleged discrepancies in Tingelhoff's personal expense reimbursement claims.
The accountability commission found one violation and dismissed nine other allegations.
Tingelhoff has said the payments were the result of clerical errors. He reimbursed the county and fixed his office's accounting policies.
No criminal charges were filed.
