Looking for deals on trinkets and odds-and-ends? The Sarpy County Museum might have what you're searching for.
The Museum's annual garage sale got under way Friday.
You can pick up historical trinkets as well as furniture and housewares. All the proceeds benefit the museum.
The money will be used to help support community events put on by the museum throughout the year. Staff members say it's a way of making sure that the people don't lose sight of the county's past as it grows into the future.
Ben Justman says, "There's a substantial amount of history here. Some cases it's in our own backyard here. In a place like Sarpy County, it is pretty important. We are kind of the Smithsonian for Sarpy County - old newspapers, photographs, historic artifacts. This is hopefully where they all go."
The sale continues Saturday in Bellevue. You'll find it two blocks south of Mission Avenue, off 24th Avenue. Hours are from 7:30 until 4 p.m.
