Monthly testing of the outdoor warning sirens located in Sarpy County begins on Saturday, March 2nd at 10AM.
The monthly tests are scheduled the first Saturday of each month beginning in March and continuing through October.
There is another scheduled sounding later this month. Sarpy County will participate in the Severe Weather Awareness Week in Nebraska March 25-29. This week is utilized by the public, government and businesses to raise awareness, prepare, test and practice procedures for what we would do during a severe weather event.
As long as no9 severe weather is expected or occurring, the statewide tornado drill will be conducted by the National Weather Service on Wednesday, March 27th between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
Sarpy County will activate sirens on that date as part of Severe Weather Week.
