The City of La Vista kicked off the holiday season with two special events starting Sunday and ending Monday.
Santa Claus made his annual visit to La Vista on Sunday evening with a sleigh ride through the City, escorted by volunteers from the Public Works, Police and Fire departments.
Festivities continue on Monday night with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Soup Supper at the Community Center. The event will begin at 6 p.m. when Santa will return and light the outdoor tree.
Immediately following the tree lighting, the Mayor and City Council will host a soup supper, provided by the 121st Street and Giles Road Runza restaurant, inside the Community Center gymnasium.
