Santa Brightens Day for Kids

Santa has put the gears in motion a little early. On Wednesday, some kids who can use some good news got exactly that.

Santa paid them a visit at the Nebraska Medical Center. Many of the kids might not be home when he’s working the chimney beat on Christmas Eve, thus the trip to the Med Center.

Marine Reservists engineered St. Nick’s trek on Wednesday as part of their Toys for Tots program.

Heather Summers, the mother of one patient, said, "It means a lot to me. He's scheduled for surgery on Thursday. Didn't know if he was going to be home for Santa or not. Bringing him into a safe environment for the kids, it means a lot."

Marine Reservists provide toys for 20,000 children in Nebraska and western Iowa.
