SUV Stolen Twice: Witness To Arrests Tries Taking Abandoned Vehicle

A stolen SUV abandoned by a man and woman running from police was stolen for a second time Thursday afternoon.

Officers stopped the Dodge Durango with no license plates near 17th and Charles in Omaha just before 4:30 p.m. The man and woman inside got out out and ran. While police went after them, a man sitting in a park across the street walked over, got in the SUV and drove off, though he didn't get far. Two other officers arriving at the scene stopped the vehicle a block away.

Concerning the first two suspects, 41-year-old David Anthony was booked for theft, obstruction and driving under suspension. Kyndra Garrett, who turns 30 on Saturday, was booked for criminal conspiracy and obstruction.

The next suspect, 25-year-old Dalon Johnson, was booked for theft, reckless driving and driving under suspension.
