SUV Misses Stop Sign And Ends Up In Field

SUV runs stop sign and goes into cornfield. No other vehicles were involved.

The Cassgram reports at approximately 11:30pm Saturday, sheriff’s deputies along with Louisville Volunteer Fire and Rescue responded to the intersection of Highway 50 and East Park Highway south of Louisville.

Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that a 2007 Ford Escape had been eastbound on East Park Highway when the driver failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Highway 50. The vehicle went through the intersection and left the roadway, travelling approximately 100 feet before coming to rest in the field.

Brueggemann said driver was Dennis L. Curtis Jr., age 36 of Plattsmouth and there were two passengers. A 57-year-old female passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to Bellevue Medical Center for treatment.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor and all parties were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
