A driver was injured when her SUV slammed into an Omaha house Wednesday afternoon.
Police say a 22-year-old woman had allegedly been driving 60 mph when she hit a light pole, then a snowbank and then hit the house at 60th and Ruggles. The driver told police she had blacked out.
Neighbors say an elderly couple live there and had their two grandchildren over. No one inside was injured. "I was just in the garage welding and I started hearing crash after crash after crash and it was the vehicle running or hitting over everything in its way,” said Tim Kennedy.
"The house shook and there was a big noise and I looked out and I saw a big, red SUV just drove through my neighbor’s car and I ran out to see if they needed any help and the girl crawled out of the car and collapsed against the tree,” said Dianna Hiatt. “They took her away in an ambulance."
No word yet on her condition.
