An Omaha home was without heat for several hours Saturday as an MUD crew worked to fix a ruptured gas line. The cut line was in the area of 26th and Y streets.
Firefighters said the crew working to make a foundation did everything by the book, but the gas line was apparently marked incorrectly and the backhoe operator cut the line. Firefighters were able to quickly shut off the gas.
Some people in the area were temporarily evacuated for their own safety. Repairs were expected to be completed by Saturday evening.
