Rude Awakening By Trash Removal
Three times a week dumpster dumping would echo sounds of banging and backup beeping. But this trash removal occurred between two and three in the morning.
Teri Sempek lives in Embassy Row apartments just across the street from two dumpsters. Teri said, "You're in a deep sleep and the banging wakes you up."
The manager for Metro Disposal and Recycling said he had to schedule removal when the parking lot for a large office complex was empty. Its located just south of 93rd and Dodge. But after a call from Fact Finders he adjusted schedules so the dumpster dumping happens after 7am.
Teri said, "I don't care if you remove the trash but do it at a reasonable hour."
City ordinance prohibits construction equipment from operating on a regular basis near residential areas. But garbage trucks are exempt.
