A traffic stop in North Omaha led to the arrests of two people for being felons in possession of a firearm.
According to Omaha police, officers stopped a vehicle near 41st and Ames for a traffic violation about 5:35 p.m. Monday. As officers approached the driver's side, they could see an open container of alcohol. They then discovered a gun, which was stolen, on the driver's seat and marijuana.
The driver, 28-year-old Parish Swift, was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. A passenger, 19-year-old Jarqueze Swift, was booked felon in possession of a firearm, felony carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and open container.
