Two victims taken to trauma center with injuries suffered in a one-vehicle rollover accident. It happened at approximately 4:20 Saturday afternoon.
The Cassgram reports Cass County sheriff’s deputies along with Manley and Weeping Water fire and rescue responded to the accident scene just south of Manley. Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann said deputies reported the vehicle was southbound on Manley Lane when it went off the road and rolled, coming to rest on its top on the railroad tracks south of the Midwest Farmers Coop grain elevator.
The driver of the vehicle was 23-year-old Travis S.L. Meisinger and the passenger was 19-year Joel M. Meisinger, both of Weeping Water, said Brueggemann.
It was determined neither party was wearing a seatbelt. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and transported by rescue squad. The passenger was extricated from the vehicle by fire and rescue personnel and transported by LifeNet to Alegent Creighton trauma center. A hospital spokeswoman was not able to provide any information to Cassgram this morning about their condition or whether they were admitted to the hospital.
The accident is still under investigation.
---LifeNet was also called to Cass County on two other occasions over the weekend, landing at Rhylander Park Friday morning to transport a woman suffering from an illness, and landing at the soccer field by Twin River Water Park to transport a 4 year-old child injured by a falling television set, according to police reports.
