Authorities on both sides of the river are investigating rollover crashes that occurred Saturday morning.
The first one happened just near 144th and State in Omaha just after 3 a.m. When deputies arrived they found an SUV on its top in a ditch and evidence of an injured person, but the driver was nowhere to be found. Investigators followed some footprints, but did not locate the driver. Deputies went to the residence of the vehicle's owner, but no one was there.
The accident happened about two hours later at the Interstate 80/I-29 split in Council Bluffs. A witness told police two cars collided and one slid into a ditch and rolled over while the other vehicle continued on its way.
