Two robbers barely escape when their attempt to hold up a convenience store goes wrong.
Omaha police were called to the Mega Saver - Tobacco & Phones 4 Less just north of 42nd and Grover at 11:30 Thursday night.
Two robbers, reportedly wearing black hoodies and black masks, entered with the obvious intention of holding up the place. But, they took off when they spotted a uniformed security guard inside.
The robbers barely got away. Radio reports indicate one of the robbers tripped as he fled. In his haste to get away, one of the men may have lost a key piece of evidence.
Omaha police officers were quickly on the scene and the Omaha police helicopter, Able One, assisted in the search for the robbers.
Radio reports indicate the robbers may have fled to a car that was waiting nearby.
