Omaha police are investigating two overnight robberies that they confirm are related; both occurred at convenience stores.
The first robbery happened just before 4:15 a.m. Monday at Convenient Food Mart, near 114th and Dodge. An employee told police two men came into the store with a gun. When he saw them, he hid and called 911.
The employee said the robbers took a cash register and left; however, as they were leaving they held up a customer who was in the store. The 41-year-old victim told police the robbers got away with his wallet.

About 15 minutes later, four masked men, armed with AK-47s stormed the Quik Trip near 87th and Maple. Surveillance video shows the men dragging the clerk violently across the floor. One robber shouted, “You push the button and I’ll kill you … open up the safe, open up the safe, right here, right here.”
The robbers were inside for less than two minutes, but before they left, police say, they robbed a customer.
“A robber comes up to me, points his gun to me and says ‘give me everything you've got’ and so I hand him my purse and everything,” Pam said. Pam, who didn’t want to be identified, explained she had just pulled up to the same Quick Trip as the robbers were fleeing.
"The first thing I think of when I seen [sic] that gun, was I was never going to see my son, again,” Pam said. "[Be]cause it was that big, it was like right in your face." Pam believed the scene of guns and violence that played out inside and out of the Quick Trip Monday morning should prompt changes in convenient store safety. "I think there should be more than one person in […] those stores at night, there should be security outside definitely. One person should not be alone in the store at all,” Pam said.
Now, Pam wants justice. "This has been going on -- I just hope other people don't have to go through this. There can be some kind of stop to this."
