The party kicked off in Bellevue Friday night as Riverfest started for the weekend.
Haworth Park opened at 5 o’clock and already crowds were filtering in, the band was cranking out the tunes and helicopter rides were taking flight.
Festival goers may not have realized but just days earlier according to organizers, standing water flooded the grounds, a quick scare of years past that forced the cancellation of the event, but then waters receded just in time for a fun weekend.
"It's huge for us you figure that the years gone by we've attracted about 40,000 and this week with the air show being right in our backyard, too we expect that crowd to be bigger, to have the park in good shape is fantastic, it is a blessing on our side,” Jim Ristow said, CEO of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce.
