Authorities have called off a search in Fort Dodge, Iowa for two children witnesses say went under the swiftly flowing water of the Des Moines River on Thursday.
Fort Dodge Fire Chief Kent Hulett says he doesn't believe anyone remained in the river because no one reported children missing.
The search began when witnesses on a bridge reported seeing two children fall into the river. By the time they could reach the shore they couldn't see the children.
Searchers used boats and a plane as well as people walking along the riverbanks.
