Retail Sales Numbers Show Slight Gains

Retail sales show slight increase. The Nebraska Department of Revenue’s Net Taxable Sales Report, comparing December 2011 to December 2010, shows Cass County with a 0.4% sales increase to $9,795,177. In the Plattsmouth city limits, December sales were up 3.8% to $4,752,897.

The Cassgram reports the November ’11 report had Cass County with a 0.5% sales increase and Plattsmouth with a 0.8% increase from a year earlier.

Statewide, December 2011 taxable sales were 6.7% higher than in 2010.

The December report for neighboring counties: Otoe [+3.0%], Lancaster [+4.7%], Saunders [+3.4%] and Sarpy [+4.5%].

Nearby cities: Ashland [-1.9%], Bellevue [+4.7%], Nebraska City [+5.3%], Papillion [+1.1%] and Syracuse [-2.7%].

---The NDR’s December Net Taxable Motor Vehicle Sales Report said Cass County recorded a 4.9% decrease when compared to the same month in 2010. Taxable motor vehicle sales totaled $3,872,273.

The statewide vehicle sales report showed an 8.1% increase when compared with December of the previous year.
