A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Pawnee and Richardson counties in southeast Nebraska until 3 p.m. Thursday.
Retails sales numbers a mixed bag south of the metro. The Nebraska Department of Revenue’s Net Taxable Sales Report, comparing December 2012 to December 2011, shows Cass County with a 3.0% decrease to $9,500,487. In the Plattsmouth city limits, December sales were up 5.0% to $4,991,948.
The Cassgram reports (The November ’12 report had Cass County with a 3.2% sales increase and Plattsmouth with a 9.2% increase over a year earlier.)
Statewide, December 2012 taxable sales were 1.3% higher than in 2011.
The December report for neighboring counties: Otoe [+3.2%], Lancaster [-0.2%], Saunders [-4.3%] and Sarpy [+17.9%].
Nearby cities: Ashland [+10.9%], Bellevue [-2.9%], Nebraska City [-4.0%], Papillion [+44.4%], Springfield [-27.8%] and Syracuse [+5.7%].
---The NDR’s December Net Taxable Motor Vehicle Sales Report said Cass County posted a 5.5% increase when compared to the same month in 2011. Taxable motor vehicle sales totaled $4,083,413.
Statewide vehicle sales were down 1.3%.
