Results From Fireworks And Firearm Amnesty On Saturday

The Omaha Police Department Bomb Response Team and the Firearms Unit conducted the annual Fireworks/Gun Amnesty day at 2 locations in the Omaha Metropolitan area.

More than 200 vehicles drove through the 2 locations with drop off items.

Omaha Fire Department Station 43 located just north of 103rd and Fort Street, served as one drop off point and the other location was Seymour Smith Park located at 72nd and Harrison.

The following is a list of the items collected during this event:

800 lbs of Fireworks
900 lbs of Ammunition
41 total firearms
25 long guns ( 2 of the long guns were illegally modified)
16 handguns
7 pipe bombs
