A fire in a metal storage building just west of Lincoln Tuesday night destroyed three classic cars that had been restored.

Neighbors saw the smoke and flames and called 911 around 6:45 p.m. The property owners, Norman and Laurie Chrastil, had been in Lincoln for dinner and returned home to find firetrucks at Southwest 47th and West A streets.

They lost a rebuilt 1946 Ford sedan, a 1972 Camaro and a 1976 Camaro. Other vehicles destroyed included motorcycles, boats and four-wheelers.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
