A woman who had left the state and failed to show for court hearings over five years ago pleaded guilty to two Class I Misdemeanors and was released from jail.
40-year-old Rena Camerlinck was arrested on the Nebraska failure-to-appear warrant in Century, Florida in December of last year and transported back to Cass County. Camerlinck, who had resided in Plattsmouth in 2005, had skipped out on Cass County Court hearings for two second degree forgery charges (Class IV Felonies) and one misdemeanor forgery charge. She had written payments to herself on three stolen business checks totaling $1572 in 2004 and 2005, according to court documents.
She had not posted the $150,000 bond after her December arrest and remained in Cass County Jail until her plea entry and sentencing hearing this week.
During that hearing, both the prosecution and defense agreed that Camerlinck recently made restitution to the victim.
