Before you make weekend dining plans - listen up. Every Thursday, we let you know which restaurants are keeping it clean and which are breaking the rules.
This week we have an update on last week's report on the Dundee Dell. The only Douglas County inspection report available at that time showed a total of 32 violations.
After we contacted the owner but before he called us back, inspectors made a return visit. That was on November 19. The new inspection found the violations had dropped from 32 to 11. The restaurant still has a fair rating.
Our next stop: the Fox and Hound English Pub and Grill. In March, inspectors found five critical violations and 10 non-critical. Inspectors found no sanitizer in their dish machine and a dirty hand sink. After finding fruit flies in the kitchen, inspectors noted that pests must be controlled.
Managers told us, "The issues from the health inspection nine months ago were addressed immediately, as confirmed by our re-inspection 14 days later. We take food safety very seriously and are confident in our next inspection."
In that re-inspection, 12 of the original 15 violations had been taken care of.
This week we are giving a shout-out to PF Chang's at Westroads Mall and Cantina Laredo at Midtown Crossing. Both received a rating of excellent.
