Rescue crews rushed into Carter Lake Tuesday night, not because someone's life was in danger, but to prepare for future emergencies.
The exercise was set up as if a car had driven into the water. Divers went in to rescue a “victim.”
“We don't get a lot of scenarios like this so this is just something we need to practice so that if something happens in real life we have everything down and not have any problems,” said Carter Lake Fire Department coordinator Phillip Newton.
An ambulance and paramedics were on-hand to get everyone prepped for what to do in this type of situation.
