Rescue groups showcase their adoptable pets Sunday at Omaha's Nebraska Humane Society.
You can meet breed experts, get behavior advice and meet deserving pets (cats, dogs and weather permitting, one of our rescued horses) who need a second chance at a great home.
These are volunteer groups that work with specific breeds. They foster animals in their homes and work one-on-one with dogs, so they have a great understanding of breed specific behavior and work to help adopters understand what makes their breed of dog tick.
The rescue rally runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the NHS, located at North 90th and Fort streets. The Humane Society is open weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can always look up animals and find information at nehumanesociety.org.
