A new medical facility is going into West Omaha in the area of 175th and Burke.
The Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital broke ground Thursday morning at its future site.
Madonna says it needs to expand. The facility sees approximately 1,300 more people in need of rehab compared to the previous year.
Madonna says the new campus will be among the most advanced hospitals in the country.
The hospital’s Marsha Lommel said, "Everything in the patient room will be run by voice control or hand gestures, so that patients will be able to turn lights on and off, close the door, lower the blinds, run the television."
Madonna's Omaha campus is expected to open in the fall of 2016.
