A registered sex offender lives in an Omaha assisted living facility but other residents their family members and visitors were never notified.
High school students also do community service work at Hickory Villa near 72nd and Hickory. Its unknown if any unknowingly had contact with the 37 year old registered sex offender. However the Principal of Omaha Skutt Catholic said the care facility should have alerted school staff before a field trip last week.
Principal Patrick Slattery said, "I understand their concerns about privacy but I think there would be plenty of ways an institution could let us know for us to check the websites in Nebraska so we can make an informed decision."
8 years ago, 37 year old Noah Brouillette was convicted on four counts of felony exploitation of a minor in Utah. The prosecutors office there said Brouillette was sentenced to one year in jail.
In Nebraska the state is paying for his care at Hickory Villa but his medical issues are not public record.
The corporation that owns Hickory Villa provided Six On Your Side with a statement. Bethesda stated "For privacy and security of our residents and their families, we are limited in the amount of information we are able to share with the public.
State Patrol Sgt. Drew Fergusion directs Nebraska's Sex Offender Registry. Ferguson said, "There's no statutory requirement to any private entity that they would have to notify their clients of a sex offender living in their facility."
The patrol confirms for Six On Your Side that Brouillette is under investigation for a possible violation of Nebraska's Sex Offender Registry guidelines. The violations deals with a computer. Six On Your Side found Brouillette has a facebook posting.
Hickory Villa stated 'We are monitoring the situation and there's no indication of any safety issues."
The assisted living facility has residents ranging in age from 37 to 105 years old.
