A convicted sex offender is back in jail. Lincoln Police arrested 38-year-old Darrell Piper Jr. Monday night. Investigators say he was exchanging explicit photos with a 13-year-old girl.
Piper faces a charge of child enticement through an electronic device. That's a class 4 felony, with a maximum five year sentence. It's possible prosecutors will also charge him with possession of child pornography.
Police say Piper and the 13-year-old girl had been exchanging texts and Facebook messages for several weeks.
During that time, the girl shared ten photos. Police say in some of them, the girl was nude.
Piper also sent the girl explicit pictures. Police say the girl's family discovered the messages and called police.
Piper is on the sex offender registry. In 1999, he began a four to six year sentence for attempted First Degree Sexual Assault. He was released on parole in January of 2002.
