A man accused in a metro cold case will be tried on a reduced charge.
Before his arrest, Oscar Hernandez was wanted on a first-degree murder warrant. Wednesday, a judge reduced that charge to second-degree murder.
As a result, if convicted, Hernandez will spend anywhere from 20 years to life in prison.
Hernandez is accused of killing Vicki Deanda in 1980.
