Earlier tonight a ceremony took place to rededicate the Marine Monument. The ceremony took place near the Salvation Army Kroc Center off 30th and Y Streets in Omaha. Marines past and present were present for the commemoration.
The original monument once stood at Freedom Park. Flood waters a few years ago damaged the original. Now the structure can be seen at Miguel Hernandez Keith Park. The park was dedicated in the name of Miguel Hernandez Keith who died in the Vietnam War and posthumously received the Medal of Honor.
