Red Oak Shooting Critically Wounds Man, Suspect Caught

A Red Oak, Iowa man was taken by medical helicopter to an Omaha hospital in critical condition after being shot Saturday morning.

Thirty-six-year-old Clyde Zeigler was shot multiple times at 4th Avenue and SW 5th Street in Red Oak just after midnight. A suspect, 31-year-old Rafael Bautista, was arrested around 9 a.m. and charged with attempted murder. Police said Bautista had a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was treated at an Omaha hospital.

He has been ordered held on $50,000 bond. Once Bautista is released from the hospital he will be taken to the Montgomery County Jail.
