Popular recreation area project completed. It improves fishing access at the area, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

The Cassgram reports Louisville Lakes now have a large pier, small shoreline pier and primitive shore launch for canoes, kayaks, float tubes and small jon boats were built at Lake No. 1. A large pier with shelter and a primitive shore launch were built at Lake No. 1A. A large pier, a large ADA-accessible pier with a shelter, a small shoreline pier and a primitive shore launch were built at Lake No. 2.

The SRA’s five sandpits offer largemouth bass, bluegill, catfish and crappie, but good access to the shorelines had been limited and often crowded. The new large piers have lowered railings and fishing rod holders. Several steep banks have been reshaped and outfitted with the small piers.
