The Iowa GOP has found a man who headlined the news a few weeks ago to headline its annual Lincoln Dinner. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky will speak at the event May 10 in Cedar Rapids.
Paul gained a lot of attention during his 13-hour filibuster to draw attention to the use of drones. While his filibuster drew criticism from both Democrats and Republicans, it also drew praise from members of both parties.
Paul is said to be considering a run for President in 2016. Iowa GOP Chairman A.J. Spiker said having him headline the Lincoln Dinner would allow him to introduce himself to Iowa Republicans.
Details on his appearance will be released closer to the event by the Iowa GOP. Individual tickets are available through the Iowa GOP for $50.
