Every parent will tell you the birth of any child is a miracle, but one couple may have used up their share of miracles. The instant family was formed this week with the birth of quadruplets and three of the four boys are identical triplets.

Lucas and Sabrina Negus were having trouble conceiving so they turned to in vitro fertilization, but there were only two eggs. The couple was preparing for bad news, but an ultrasound at seven weeks revealed three heartbeats. Another one week later showed four. So now the couple is parents to four little boys. Logan, Mason, Porter and Connor are the first quads born at Methodist Women's Hospital.

Each baby had his own team of respiratory experts, nurses and support staff. The boys have beaten the odds. Risk skyrockets with multiple births, though doctors say they are healthy.

The triplets, Logan, Mason and Porter as well as youngest brother Connor will catch up to the other children their age and mom and dad will ensure they are four individuals who happen to be quads.

"It's going to be a long road of making sure everybody is special, but not too special."

"And they are all still quadruplets in the end. They don't have rhyming names or anything like that."

Doctors say the Negus quads are doing well, better than could be expected. Two are already breathing on their own, the other two with minimal assistance. They all should be home within six to eight weeks.
