The Pottawattamie County Sheriff has identified two Council Bluffs men who, investigators say, ran from deputies.

On Tuesday morning, a deputy spotted a vehicle that matched the description of one wanted in connection to a snow blower theft in Persia, which is in Harrison County.

Investigators say the driver of the white Chevy Malibu hatchback did not stop when emergency lights were activated in Shelby, Iowa. The deputy said he saw a snow blower in the back of the car.

The Sheriff says the driver. Michael Meehan, 43, fled at a high-rate of speed, but eventually lost control on a snow-covered gravel road -- crashing the vehicle in a cornfield north of Whippoorwill Road.

Both Meehan and the passenger, Edward Spurling, 68, were injured in the crash.

Spurling was treated and released.

Charges are pending in Harrison and Pottawattamie County.

At the scene, investigators told WOWT 6 News the car belongs to Meehan, who has a suspended license.
