Thieves took a billfold from the purse of 70 year old Sandra Huey. Now her insurance provider is taking its time sending her a new medicare swipe card.
She reported the theft October 5th but on the phone with United Health Care customer service ,Sandra said, "This will be nine direct contacts with them and still no card.
A United Health Care spokesman says the company takes complaints like Sandra's seriously and works quickly to provide clients with the insurance information they need. That is when delays are brought to their attention.
Sandra's insurance and credit card were taken from her purse she thought was safe at work. But her job has public access and the theft shows you can't be too careful.
Sandra says the affects of a personal information can last for weeks. She said, "You mentally go through it over and over. What did I have in there? What else do i need to cancel that they have access to? Its not a simple little theft.
Before canceling her credit card the thieves purchased hundreds of dollars worth of gas and other items and five different convenience stores around Omaha.
Sandra said she only carriers her license and a little lunch money to work in a small purse with a strap she keeps on her shoulder.
