The Douglas County Sheriff's Department is asking for help identifying the man who put a cell phone under the dressing room door at an Omaha Goodwill store.

The incident happened December 27th at the Goodwill near 181st and R Plaza. The 19-year-old victim, who did not want to be identified, told Channel 6 News she was out shopping with her mom and brother during Christmas break.

“I had just taken off an outfit to put another back on and I look down and there was a guy's hand there with his phone recording me.” Her first reaction was asking, “What are you doing?” The man then ran out the store.

The victim said she felt violated. “I mean it’s my personal space and nobody sees me undress, that’s just wrong.”

Goodwill employees say they already have security in place with cameras outside the dressing rooms and employees are taught to keep an eye on things. “In the years that I’ve been working here and running the Goodwill program this is the first time that this has ever happened,” said Randy Parks.

Now, employees will be keeping an eye out for the suspect and of course the victim also hopes he gets caught. “I hope the video makes people aware of what’s going on and maybe somebody else will catch him or someone will recognize him and do the right thing and turn him in."

Witness statements indicate the suspect’s clothes had white paint on them and it was visible in the surveillance video, although investigators said it might not be noticed unless it is pointed out.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department at 402-444-6000. A cash reward is available if a tip leads to an arrest.
