Summer vacation is nearly here and this is a great time for the kids to have outdoor fun.
Since bike riding is part of that fun and we want our children to stay safe, Safe Kids Sarpy/Cass is sponsoring a bike safety poster contest and bike safety presentation at the libraries in Sarpy and Cass Counties.
The poster contests and bike safety presentations will take place at the Sarpy and Cass County libraries during the months of May and June.
Safe Kids Sarpy/Cass is supplying the Police Officers and Sheriff Departments in Sarpy County LED flashing stars to present to kids that the officers see wearing their bike helmets. The officers will start awarding the flashing stars in June. Jane Husz says “We
want to teach our children how to be safe on a bike and we want to reward them for wearing a helmet which is a big part of bike safety.”
